Crafting Ethereal Spaces Where Nature Meets Innovation
We're not your typical architecture studio. Think of us as translators between the wild Nordic landscape and the modern need for shelter that doesn't fight nature.
Based out of Vancouver, we've spent nearly a decade figuring out how to build structures that actually belong in their surroundings. No cookie-cutter designs here – each project starts with the land itself.
Our studio draws heavily from Scandinavian principles (hence the name), but we're not dogmatic about it. It's more about respecting materials, maximizing natural light, and creating spaces that feel calm rather than chaotic.
More About UsSix core areas where we've built our reputation. Nothing flashy, just solid work that stands the test of time.
Homes that fit how you live, not the other way around. We've done everything from urban infills to off-grid cabins.
Offices, retail spaces, and mixed-use buildings that don't feel like corporate boxes. Your employees and customers will thank you.
This isn't optional anymore. We integrate passive heating, renewable materials, and energy efficiency from day one.
Making the most of what you've got. Small spaces can feel huge with the right approach – we've proven it dozens of times.
Buildings shouldn't compete with nature. We work with landscape architects to blur those indoor-outdoor boundaries.
Bringing old structures into the present without erasing their past. It's detective work, craftsmanship, and patience rolled into one.
This one was tricky. Client wanted modern amenities but didn't want to sacrifice the mountain views or add to the visual clutter. We ended up with a semi-buried design that keeps the roofline low and uses local stone for about 60% of the exterior.
The result? 3,200 sq ft that barely registers from the valley below, but opens up spectacularly once you're inside. Triple-glazed everything, geothermal heating, and a green roof that the local wildlife's already claimed.
See More ProjectsLook, we could fill this with buzzwords about "synergy" and "paradigm shifts," but that's not us. Here's what actually guides our work:
We're in BC. That means rain, temp swings, and the occasional heat dome. Your building needs to handle all of it.
Wood looks like wood. Concrete looks like concrete. We're not big on covering things up with fake finishes.
Natural light changes how you feel in a space. We obsess over window placement and sight lines.
Spaces should feel good at human height, not just look impressive in drone shots.
We don't ask for reviews, but when people send them anyway, it feels pretty good.
"Worked with three other firms before Frostveil. They were the first ones who actually listened instead of just pitching their signature style. Our home feels like ours, not theirs."

North Vancouver Residence
"Our heating bills dropped by 40% after the restoration. They updated all the mechanicals but kept the character that made us buy the place to begin with. That's hard to pull off."

Gastown Heritage Building
"Straightforward communication, realistic timelines, and they came in under budget. Plus the office actually works – employee feedback's been overwhelmingly positive about the space."

We take on about 12-15 projects a year. If you've got land, a vision, or just a problem that needs solving, let's see if we're a good fit. No pressure, just coffee and sketches.
